"The Slave Ship" We are drowning in oil while the off shore production continues to destroy our waters and valuable food sources. We are a slave to oil. Inspired by a Turner painting of the same name, the slave ship owners would toss their cargo over the side when an impending storm would threaten to sink the ship. If the ship made it to port, the owners would collect the insurance for loss of cargo. Hey BP, how much did you collect from the insurance companies while the people of the Gulf coast suffered the loss? |
